Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 August 2026

Thriving Kids (thrivingkids.com) is an independent Australian platform that connects families with support providers for children and young people. We take privacy seriously β€” especially because the information families share with us often concerns children. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you're in the United States, our US privacy policy applies instead.

What we collect

From families:

  • Your contact details β€” name, email, phone, suburb, state and postcode
  • Information about the support you're seeking β€” your child's first name (optional), age, any diagnosis you choose to share, your concerns, and funding sources you may use
  • Account details (email and an encrypted password) and your activity on the platform, such as which providers you choose to connect with

Some of this β€” such as diagnosis details or developmental concerns β€” is sensitive health-related information about your child. We only collect it when you choose to provide it, we use it solely to match you with suitable providers and operate the platform, and by submitting it you consent to us handling it for those purposes.

From providers: your name, business details, contact details, services, coverage areas, credentials you declare (registration, Working with Children Check, insurance, NDIS registration), profile content (bio, photo, website), and subscription billing details.

How we use it

  • Matching: showing families providers who fit their location and support needs, and showing providers the enquiries they've been matched with
  • Connections: when a family chooses to connect with a provider, we share that family's enquiry details (including contact details) with that provider β€” and only that provider. This never happens automatically; families always make the first move.
  • Communication: service emails (confirmations, match alerts, account emails) and occasional platform emails such as reminders or introductions from providers. Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link that works.
  • Operating and improving the platform, including support, billing and safety

We do not sell personal information. We don't share family details with anyone except the providers a family chooses to connect with, and the service providers below.

Who helps us run the platform

We use reputable service providers to operate: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe (payment processing β€” we never see or store full card numbers), and Resend (email delivery). These providers may store data on servers located overseas (including the United States). We choose providers with strong security practices and share only what each needs to do its job.

Security & retention

Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and access to personal information is restricted. We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law, and we delete or de-identify it when it's no longer needed.

Your choices & rights

  • You can access and correct your details any time from your dashboard, or by contacting us
  • You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails via the link in any email
  • You can ask us to delete your account and personal information β€” email us and we'll action it promptly, subject to any legal retention obligations

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising trackers.
