Privacy Policy β United States
Last updated: August 10, 2026
Thriving Kids (thrivingkids.com) is an independent platform that connects families with support providers for children and young people. This policy explains how we handle personal information for users located in the United States. We take privacy seriously β especially because the information families share with us often concerns children. If you're in Australia, our Australian privacy policy applies instead.
What we collect
From families:
- Your contact details β name, email, phone, city, state and ZIP code
- Information about the support you're seeking β your child's first name (optional), age, any diagnosis you choose to share, and your concerns
- Account details (email and an encrypted password) and your activity on the platform, such as which providers you choose to connect with
Some of this β such as diagnosis details or developmental concerns β is sensitive health-related information about your child. We only collect it when you, as the parent or guardian, choose to provide it, and we use it solely to match you with suitable providers and operate the platform. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13; all information about a child is provided by their parent or guardian, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
From providers: your name, business details, contact details, services, professional license details (license type, number and issuing state β which we verify against state licensing board records), profile content (bio, website), and subscription billing details.
How we use it
- Matching: showing families licensed providers who fit their location and support needs
- License verification: checking provider license details against public state licensing board records, and keeping an audit record of what the board reported
- Connections: when a family chooses to connect with a provider, we share that family's enquiry details (including contact details) with that provider β and only that provider. This never happens automatically; families always make the first move.
- Communication: service emails (confirmations, match alerts, account emails) and occasional platform emails. Every non-essential email has an unsubscribe link that works.
- Operating and improving the platform, including support, billing and safety
We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months. We don't disclose family details to anyone except the providers a family chooses to connect with, and the service providers below.
Who helps us run the platform
We use reputable service providers to operate: Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe (payment processing β we never see or store full card numbers), and Resend (email delivery). Data is stored on servers in the United States and may be processed in other countries. We share only what each provider needs to do its job.
Security & retention
Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and access to personal information is restricted. We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law, and we delete or de-identify it when it's no longer needed.
Your choices & rights
- You can access and correct your details any time from your dashboard, or by contacting us
- You can unsubscribe from non-essential emails via the link in any email
- You can ask us to delete your account and personal information β email us and we'll action it promptly, subject to any legal retention obligations
- Depending on your state (including under the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have additional rights to know, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Email us to exercise any of these rights β we honor them for all US users regardless of state.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't respond differently to browser "Do Not Track" signals because we don't track you across other sites in the first place.
